Carpet Beetles

I recently discovered carpet beetles in my home. I'm positive they are a gift from the previous occupants. I spent the weekend vacuuming, scrubbing baseboards and walls, and washing everything that could be washed. Luckily we had already scheduled the carpets to be replaced, but we also had to call in some varmint killing experts. Here's to hoping we get rid of them, because bugs drive the wife crazy, which in turn drives me crazy. Church and state will have to wait until next time.

A quick thought

I had originally intended to post about terrorism and how we relate to it, but I'm not so sure I want to anymore. I didn't like the way it was going, so I'm leaving it in draft form to come back to if the mood hits. I ended up getting distracted by something else I wanted to talk about, and that will be out (with any luck) this weekend. In the meantime, I had a quick thought to put out.

I am curious about the concept of foreign oil. My understanding is that oil is a global market, and as such foreign oil is a myth. Reaping the benefits of %100 domestic crude production would require nationalizing the industry. Finding alternative sources of energy seems like a much better use of our time. The oil WILL run out eventually, it's just a matter of time. I don't support bio fuel myself, as we already use our farmland for bio fuel, namely food. I would like to see some sort of blend of renewable sources, but I digress. Does anyone out there know more about this?
